March 2017

  • I'll be displaying a selection of work at the inaugural Braemar Mountain Festival from the 3rd to 5th March at St Margaret's Church.  All are welcome at the launch of the exhibition (mulled wine and music too) at 6pm on Friday 3rd.  Visit the website


 November 2016

  • I'll be exhibiting at The Strathpeffer Art Fair from 24th to 27th November at the Strathpeffer Pavilion.  It's always a spectacularly colourful event exhibiting over 300 works by 100 Highland artists.  Visit their website for more information.


October 2016


  • I'll be exhibiting at The Mountain Arts Festival 2016 - from Wednesday 19th to Thursday 27th October at the Rheged Centre, Penrith.  The proceeds from the festival will support the Nepal Earthquake Appeal of Community Action Nepal.  Find out more at:

  • I am currently working on a number of commissions


November 2015

  • I have been chosen as one of three finalists on Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2015.  The final will be broadcast on Sky Arts on Tuesday 24th November.  This 4 hour painting of Tower Bridge earned me my place in the final.

  • Mountain Arts Festival at Rheged 6th - 12th November 2015

    I will be exhibiting new work at the Rheged Mountain Centre as part of Community Action Nepal's Mountain Arts Festival, all in aid of their Nepal Earthquake Appeal.

  • Currently taking part in the Sky Arts television programme Landscape Artist of the Year.  The semi-final is broadcast on the 17th November.  I spoke about my experience with sponsors Cass Art - the interview is featured on their blog. Here's a time lapse of my heat-winning painting from Lyme Park.

May 2015

  • I took part in series two of the BBC's Secret Britain program.  The presenters found me sketching on a boulder overlooking the Great Glen, where I chatted to Ellie about painting the Scottish mountains from hidden viewpoints, and advised Adam on climbing Ben Nevis via the impressive Ledge Route.

February 2014
  • Fort William Mountain Festival 2014 - Jamie will be at Cafe 3:16, Kilmallie Free Church, Thursday 20th February, painting from 7:30 till 10:00pm, and Saturday 22nd February 10am - 4:00pm.  Pop along to the beautiful new church building, enjoy a coffee and home-made baking and chat with Jamie about his techniques and inspiration.

  • The Biscuit Factory - Autumn collection features a new exhibition in their Cube Gallery celebrating the gallery's 10th birthday.  "Painting 10 x 10" showcases a wide variety of styles from selected artists (including Jamie) all sized at 10" x 10".

  • Caledoniart presents the Island Culture Exhibition - paintings, sculpture and more celebrate Scotland's Islands: The Air Gallery, Dover Street London from 26th September to 1st October 2011.

May 2011

  • Show Me the Monet will be aired on BBC2 from 9th May 2011, 5:15pm.  Jamie features in Episode 8 on 18th May.
  • Resipole Studios Spring Exhibition - a unique gallery and studio nestled in the heart of the West Highlands, situated on the shores of Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan.

  • Contemporary Gallery of Fine Art Eton group exhibition starts 28th February and continues through March.
  • Queen's Gallery Dundee group exhibition with Ealanta Loch Abair starts 19th February and continues throughout March.
  • Jamie has been taking part in filming of a new BBC art programme called "Show Me the Monet".

  • Ealanta Loch Aber group exhibition - Lime Tree Gallery, Fort William.  Saturday 17th July for 6 weeks. . Ealanta Loch Aber is a collective of professional visual artists working and living in Lochaber in the heart of the West Highlands of Scotland.

May 2010

  • Jamie has been selected as this year's exhibiting artist at the renowned Kendal Mountain Festival.

April 2010

  • Jamie took part in an exhbition of fine art and sculpture at Palace House in Newmarket near Cambridge from 12th April to Saturday 17th April 2010.

March 2010 

  • Trail Magazine, the UK's leading mountain activities publication, visited Jamie in his studio in preparation for a painting article.  Jamie took the mountaineering editor Jeremy Ashcroft over Ben Nevis via the Carn Mor Dearg arete, and sketched as they went.
  • Jamie appeared in Scotland Magazine this winter, as Scotland's Fourth Hottest Artist in a new top-ten list.

January 2010

  • The British Mountaineering Council's magazine publication 'Summit', featured a double-page article on Jamie and his painting, and provided readers with an insight into his work and background

December 2009

  • Jamie enjoyed another successful exhibition when he joined 25 of the finest Scottish Contemporary Artists
    and took part in the annual Caledoniart Christmas Exhibition, held at Smithfield Gallery in London in December

October 2009

  • The Rt Hon Charles Kennedy MP and comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli were two of the distinguished guests at Jamie's solo exhibition "Climbing Solo".  Charles officially opened the exhibition at the preview on 13th October, and Hardeep was auction master at the Borderline Charity Auction, held in the gallery on 15th October.  Items were donated by eminent stars such as Ewan MacGregor and Sean Connery, and the painting donated by Jamie (pictured below) reached £510 before the hammer fell.

July 2009

  • "Climbing Solo" - an exhibition of paintings by Jamie Hageman.  His first one-man exhibition is presented by Caledoniart - see Caledoniart's website. The exhibition runs from 9 October to 16 October at La Galleria, 30 Royal Opera Arcade, Pall Mall, London (nearest tubes Piccadilly Circus and Charing Cross) and is open to the public from 10.00 am to 7.00 pm (closes Tuesday and Thurs 6pm).
