Fort William Mountain Festival
I will be exhibiting new paintings and drawings at this year's Fort William Mountain Festival. It's always a wonderful atmosphere at the show, with famous names from the world of climbing, biking and running giving talks and showing films. My artwork, including a number of new pieces, will be on display in The Nevis Centre from Thursday 21st until Sunday 24th February each evening from 6pm. There will also be mountaineering exhibits, stalls, photographic displays and book signings.
On Saturday night at The Nevis Centre will be the first viewing of a short film about me and my work, focussing on a cosy night in the tent on The Devil's Ridge this Winter, and attempting to paint very quickly before my acrylics freeze up completely. All good fun. The film was made by Claire and Dave MacLeod, and is for The Nevis Landscape Partnership.
Saturday night is 'climber's night', and the guest speaker is the alpinist Tom Livingstone recalling his recent (and astonishing) Latok I climb in the Himalaya.
